Ingredients

  • 5 pork chops
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
  • 3/4 c. long grain rice
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 2 1/2 c. whole tomatoes
  • 5 green pepper rings
  • sharp cheese, shredded

Method

  • Trim excess fat from chops.
  • Heat fat in skillet; when you have 2 tablespoons of melted fat, remove the trimmings.
  • Slowly brown chops in fat; drain.
  • Combine seasonings and sprinkle over meat.
  • Add rice, onion and green pepper.
  • Pour tomatoes over mix; cover.
  • Cook over low heat 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Add green pepper rings and cook 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.
