Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 medium potatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 egg
  • a little water

Method

  • Peel and cook 4 to 6 potatoes as for mashing.
  • Mash with 1 tablespoon margarine and 1/2 pound Cheddar cheese; let cool.
  • Make a dough with 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 egg and enough water to make a dough; pinch off small pieces of dough and roll out.
  • Fill with potato mixture; fold dough over and pinch edges.
  • Continue this until all potatoes are used.
  • You can either fry them in hot oil or boil them.
