Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine or butter
  • 2 c. sifted powdered sugar
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
  • sugar
  • pecan halves

Method

  • In
  • bowl,
  • beat margarine or butter with an electric mixer on medium to
  • high
  • speed
  • about 30 seconds or until softened. Add
  • powdered
  • sugar, about half of the flour, half of
  • the
  • milk and
  • the
  • vanilla to the margarine.
  • Beat until thoroughly combined,
  • scraping
  • sides of
  • bowl occasionally. Then
  • beat
  • or stir
  • in
  • remaining
  • flour and milk.
  • Stir in chopped
  • pecans. Drop
  • dough from a rounded teaspoon 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Sprinkle with sugar.
  • If desired, lightly press a pecan half in center of each cookie. Bake
  • in
  • a 375°
  • oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are slightly golden.
  • Remove
  • cookies
  • and
  • cool
  • on a wire rack. Makes about 48.
