Ingredients
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- salt
Method
- Butter a small casserole and line the bottom and sides with small squares of buttered bread.
- Cut off the crusts.
- Make a custard of the ingredients.
- Mix and pour over the bread. Sprinkle ground cinnamon or nutmeg, whichever preferred, over top. Raisins may be added if you wish.
- Place casserole in pan of boiling water and bake at 350° for one hour (or until a sliver knife comes out clean).
