Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 2/3 c. Karo syrup (white)
- 3 c. shelled raw peanuts
- 2 tsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- few drops red food coloring
Method
- Cook the sugar, milk, Karo syrup and peanuts on low fire for 1 hour, or until mixture forms a semi-firm ball when dropped into cold water.
- Stir real often.
- Add the butter, vanilla and food coloring.
- Beat for 3 or 4 minutes.
- Drop by teaspoonful onto wax paper.
- Yields about 35 patties.
