Ingredients

  • 1 (8 1/2 ounce) package pie crust mix
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, round
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon water

Method

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Mix pie crust mix with cream cheese until well blended, making a soft dough.
  • Wrap dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes.
  • Remove from refrigerator and divide in half.
  • On floured surface, roll out each halt to 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cut a 7 inch pastry circle from each half.
  • Place one pastry circle on ungreased baking sheet.
  • Place Brie in center of pastry.
  • Lightly wet edges of dough and place the other 7 inch circle on top.
  • Pinch edges together lightly to seal.
  • In speeratore bowl, beat egg and water together.
  • Brush mixture over top and sides of pastry.
  • Bake 15 minutes or until brown.
  • Remove from baking sheet immediately.
  • Let rest 15 minutes to allow cheese to set.
  • Serve warm with apples or crackers.
