Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. buttermilk
- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Cream butter and gradually add sugar, beating well.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
- Add buttermilk and beat well.
- Combine flour and soda; gradually stir into creamed mixture.
- Stir in vanilla; chill dough several hours or overnight. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick on floured board.
- Place 1-inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 375° until light brown. Sprinkle sugar over them.
