Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts (walnuts/pecans)

Method

  • Mix together all dry ingredients well.
  • Separately, cream shortening, sugars and eggs together well.
  • Blend in flour mixture.
  • Add raisins and nuts; mix well.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for approximately 10 to 15 minutes until light brown.
  • Makes about 3 dozen cookies. Delicious!
