Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. oats
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. nuts and/or raisins (optional)

Method

  • Cream sugar, butter and shortening in a bowl.
  • Add egg and beat.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Mix together baking soda, cinnamon, baking powder and flour.
  • Add to the batter.
  • Fold in oats, nuts and raisins.
  • Drop by teaspoons 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for about 10 minutes.
