Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 2 Tbsp. water
  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 4 eggs, divided
  • apricot jam
  • raspberry jam
  • 1 pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg

Method

  • Mix together flour, salt and sugar with pastry blender.
  • (I use a fork, it works just as well.)
  • Cut in butter as you would if you were making pie crust.
  • Add sour cream and four egg yolks. Mix in.
  • Add yeast and mix again.
  • After it is completely mixed, knead dough on a floured surface until smooth.
  • Divide dough into four equal parts.
  • Wrap in plastic and refrigerate overnight. Thirty minutes before baking, remove dough from refrigerator.
  • Cut each piece into two.
  • Roll out into the size of a loaf pan.
