Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 large bell pepper, chopped
  • garlic powder to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 3 to 5 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 2 cans pinto beans
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. water

Method

  • In a larger saucepan brown ground beef; add onion and bell pepper.
  • Saute until limp.
  • Add chili powder and mix well.
  • Add remaining spices, tomato sauce, tomato paste and 1 cup water.
  • Add canned beans or cooked beans and simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Ladle off any excess grease at top.
  • Serve with crackers or jalapeno cornbread.
