- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 large bell pepper, chopped
- garlic powder to taste
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 3 to 5 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 small can tomato sauce
- 2 cans pinto beans
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. water
Method
- In a larger saucepan brown ground beef; add onion and bell pepper.
- Saute until limp.
- Add chili powder and mix well.
- Add remaining spices, tomato sauce, tomato paste and 1 cup water.
- Add canned beans or cooked beans and simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
- Ladle off any excess grease at top.
- Serve with crackers or jalapeno cornbread.
