Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 sticks whipped margarine
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. milk

Method

  • Cream
  • Crisco and margarine.
  • Add sugar and cream well. Add 1/2 flour and 1/2 milk, alternating and mixing well.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
  • Add remaining flour and
  • milk, mix well.
  • Stir in vanilla.
  • Pour in a greased and floured tube pan.
  • Put in cold oven.
  • Bake 1 hour at
  • 325°,
  • then turn oven to 350° and bake 25 minutes longer. Do not open oven until cake is done.
