Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1/3 c. golden raisins
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cumin
  • dash of ground cloves
  • dash of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. slivered almonds
  • 1/4 c. sliced pimiento-stuffed olives

Method

  • Cook and stir beef, onion, garlic and crushed red pepper in 10-inch skillet until beef is light brown. Drain. Add tomatoes, green pepper, raisins, salt, chili powder, cumin, cloves and cinnamon. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  • In separate pan, cook and stir almonds over medium heat until golden, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir almonds and olives into beef mixture. Serve with rice.
