Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground turkey
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 lb. Romano cheese
  • 1 lb. low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1 (29 oz.) tomatoes
  • 1 (48 oz.) Prego extra chunky (6 vegetables)
  • 2/3 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 lb. lasagna

Method

  • Cook ground beef and turkey; drain off fat.
  • Add chopped garlic, chopped onion and green pepper, broken up canned tomatoes and spaghetti sauce, garlic powder and oregano.
  • Simmer 45 minutes. Cook lasagna.
  • Use 7 x 11-inch pan.
  • Put sauce on bottom, lasagna layer, sauce, 1/2 pound Romano cheese, 1/2 pound cottage cheese, sprinkle Parmesan cheese.
  • Repeat layers ending up with lasagna on top, with Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Cook in oven 45 minutes at 350°.
