Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. blanched whole almonds, pecan halves, walnut halves or cashews
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Line baking sheet with foil; butter the foil.
  • In heavy 8-inch skillet, combine nuts, sugar and margarine.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly 9 minutes or until sugar melts and turns a rich brown color.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Spread mixture onto prepared baking sheet.
  • Cool completely.
  • Break into clusters. Store tightly covered.
