Ingredients

  • 6 slices whole wheat bread, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 lb. ground turkey sausage
  • 1 red or green sweet pepper
  • 1/2 c. (or more) mushrooms
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. shredded reduced fat sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can reduced sodium cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton frozen egg product, thawed (may use 4 fresh eggs)
  • 1 c. skim milk
  • 3/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • pepper

Method

  • Cut whole wheat bread into cubes, place in large shallow pan and bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes or until toasted, stirring once.
  • Spray a 12 x 8-inch baking dish and dump half of the cubes therein.
