- 4 c. ground onions
- 1 medium cabbage, ground
- 10 green tomatoes, ground
- 12 green peppers, ground
- 6 red sweet peppers, ground
- 1/2 c. salt
- 6 c. sugar
- 4 c. vinegar
- 2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. celery seed
- 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
Method
- Sprinkle salt over vegetables.
- Let stand overnight.
- Rinse with cold water and drain.
- Combine the rest of ingredients and simmer all until tender.
- Pour into jars and seal hot.
- Makes approximately 8 quarts.
