Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 (28 oz.) cans Red Pack crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1/4 c. oregano
  • 1/4 c. basil
  • 1/4 c. parsley
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3/4 tsp. fresh garlic
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan
  • 2 bay leaves

Method

  • Saute onion and garlic.
  • Add tomato paste, stirring constantly.
  • When mixed well, pour into very large pot and add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, parsley and bay leaves.
  • Bring to a boil and then simmer for 2 hours and 45 minutes.
  • Add sugar and Parmesan cheese.
  • Continue to simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Let cool and store extra sauce in freezer.
  • Makes a lot!
