Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. butter
- 2 c. dark brown sugar
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1/4 c. cornstarch
- 2 c. cold milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan.
- Stir constantly. Mix egg yolks, cornstarch and cold milk in a small bowl.
- Add to the other mixture until the sauce thickens.
- Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Cook over medium heat.
- Pour into baked pastry. Top with meringue.
