Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 c. rice, uncooked
  • 1 can tomatoes or 2 small cans tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 can kidney beans

Method

  • Brown meat and onions.
  • Pour off excess grease.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Stir to mix.
  • Cover and bring to a boil.
  • Turn to low heat and cook 30 minutes or until rice is done.
  • Stir once or twice while cooking to prevent sticking.
  • Add water if needed, depending on the amount of liquid in the tomatoes and beans.
