Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 c. flour
  • 1-1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. (1-1/2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 2/3 c. cocoa
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, cocoa, baking soda, salt, eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat at medium speed until blended. Stir in pecans. Drop dough into 1-1/4 inch balls on ungreased cookie sheet. flatten slightly. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until almost set. Cool slightly; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Prepare filling. Spread flat side of one cookie with 1 heaping tablespoon of filling; cover with flat side of second cookie. Serve warm or at room temperature.
