Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 tsp. instant garlic or 2 cloves
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, chopped and drained
  • 1 small can diced olives
  • 1 can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 3 c. grated cheese
  • 2 c. cooked shell macaroni, cooked with 1 to 2 Tbsp. oil to keep from sticking

Method

  • Brown meat.
  • Salt and pepper to taste as you put ingredients together.
  • Use a pan deeper than a skillet (easier to mix together).
  • Add onion.
  • Add everything else except cheese and macaroni.
  • Then add 2 cups of the cheese.
  • Drain macaroni (do not rinse) and add to mixture.
  • Put all in casserole dish.
  • Add last cup of cheese to top of mixture.
  • Add tomato wedges on top, if desired.
  • Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes until mixture bubbles. Cover with foil, then remove to melt cheese.
