Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. butter
- 3 sq. chocolate
- 4 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) pie shell
Method
- Beat eggs until light, then beat in syrup, sugar, salt and vanilla. Melt butter and chocolate together, then cool and stir in. Pour in pie shell and bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Top should be set, but filling should be somewhat soft inside.
- Do not overbake.
- Should be like custard.
- May add pecans for a chocolate style pecan pie.
