Ingredients

  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. white corn syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 Tbsp. strawberry jello
  • 1 qt. chilled strawberries
  • 1 baked and cooled pie shell
  • whipped cream

Method

  • Combine
  • sugar, water, cornstarch and corn syrup.
  • Cook until clear.
  • Add
  • salt, jello
  • and
  • a few drops of red food coloring. Cool;
  • add strawberries.
  • Fill baked pie shell and top with whipped cream.
  • If frozen berries are used, drain the juice and use
  • instead
  • of water.
  • Graham cracker crust may be used if desired.
