Ingredients

  • 5 fresh ears of corn
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/2 c. light cream
  • 1 1/2 tsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Method

  • Cut corn from cob; set aside.
  • In 8-inch skillet, cook bacon until crisp; remove and crumble, reserving drippings.
  • Add corn, milk, sugar, salt and pepper to reserved drippings. Cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In screw top jar shake together light cream and flour until combined, stir into corn mixture.
  • Add butter or margarine, cook, stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly.
  • Garnish with crumbled bacon.
