Ingredients

  • 1 baked (8-inch) pastry shell
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 (1 oz.) sq. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 pt. whipping cream

Method

  • Prepare, bake and cool pastry shell.
  • Mix softened butter, sugar and chocolate (melt chocolate over hot water or on very low heat to keep from sticking).
  • Add eggs, one at a time and vanilla. You will need an electric mixer for this; do not try without. Whip cream; sweeten as desired.
  • Top chocolate mixture with whipped cream.
  • Grate chocolate on top.
  • Refrigerate 4 to 5 hours or overnight.
  • Serves 4 to 6.
