- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. flour
- 3 eggs
- sliced almonds, toasted
- butter frosting of choice
- 1 yeast cake
- 3 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 4 c. rye flour
- 1 c. water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 8 c. white flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast in water.
- Add 1 teaspoon sugar and rye flour, making a "sponge".
- Add remaining ingredients except white flour; mix well.
- Add white flour until right consistency.
- Mix and knead well.
- Let rise 2 to 3 times.
- Make into loaves and bake.
