Ingredients
- 1 head cabbage
- 1 lb. ground chop meat
- 1/2 c. rice
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 2 c. water
- 1 small can tomato sauce
- 2 cloves garlic or 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. oil or shortening
- 1 Tbsp. regular flour
- 1 egg
Method
- Cook rice in 1 1/2-quarts of water for 15 minutes; drain. Combine with meat and mix well.
- Cook cabbage 5 or 10 minutes in large kettle.
- In 1 1/2-quart saucepan, put oil, flour and the chopped onion; brown a little.
- Fill cabbage leaves.
- Add tomato sauce.
- Cook under low heat for 30 to 35 minutes.
