Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. beef chuck, cut in cubes
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 Tbsp. salad oil
- 2 red onions, chopped
- 1 carrot, thinly sliced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 1/2 c. vegetable juice
Method
- Coat beef with flour, salt and pepper.
- Brown in butter and oil mixture.
- Brown onions; add carrots, garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, bay leaves, meat and vegetable juice.
- Bring to boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
- Remove the meat; thicken liquid, then pour over meat.
