Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 6 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. seasoning salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 4 c. water
  • 12 corn tortillas
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 c. grated cheese

Method

  • Brown meat and add next 4 ingredients.
  • Blend and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add 4 cups of water; mix and boil for 10 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, add just enough butter or margarine to fry tortillas, about 3 seconds each.
  • Layer in Dutch oven tortillas, meat mixture, onions and cheese (3 or 4 layers).
  • Bake at 325°, uncovered, about 40 minutes.
