- 2 ONIONS QUARTERED SILCED THIN
- 2 CLOVES OF GARLIC CRUSHED
- 4 LBS LEAN GROUND BEEF (85%)
- 3 TBLS CHILI POWDER
- 4 CANS DICED TOMATOES WITH MILD CHILES (Del Monte)
- 1 12oz CAN TOMATO PASTE
- 4 151/2 oz CANS CHILI BEANS (Joan of Arc)
- 1 14 1/2 oz CAN BEEF BROTH
- Part 2
- 3 TBLS SUGAR
- 2 TBLS CHILI POWDER
- 2 TBLS COCOA
- 1 TBLS CUMIN
- 1 TBLS SALT
- 1 TBLS OREGANO
- 1 TSP PEPPER
- 1/2 TSP GARLIC POWDER
- 1/2 TSP CINNAMON
- 1/2 TSP DILL WEED
- 1/2 TSP BASIL
- 1/4 TSP ALL SPICE
- 1/8 TSP CEYENE PEPPER
- 2 BAY LEAVES
Method
- Part 1
- In a 10 qt pot
- Sautee onion and garlic
- Add ground beef and Chili Powder stir until meat is brown
- Drain fat from meat return to pot
- Add remaining part 1 ingredients.
- Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer.
- Combine the part 2 ingredients and add to mixture
- Simmer on low heat for 4-6 hours.
