Ingredients

  • 8 c. popped popcorn
  • 1 c. peanuts
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Mix popcorn and peanuts in a large bowl.
  • In a medium saucepan combine brown sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt over low heat until butter melts.
  • Cook without stirring for 3 minutes.
  • Add baking soda and vanilla; remove from heat.
  • Stir until mixed then pour over popcorn.
  • Mix until evenly coated.
  • Bake 15 minutes at 300°.
  • Break into pieces.
  • Store in airtight container.
