Ingredients
- 2 c. mulberries
- juice of 1 lime
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/3 c. milk
Method
- Wash and cut stems from mulberries.
- Other fruits in season may be substituted.
- Place in bottom of 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Add juice and grated rind from 1 lime or lemon.
- Sprinkle the water over top; add sugar and mix.
- Dot with butter.
