Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 c. shredded coconut
  • 1 c. pecan pieces
  • 2 c. corn flakes
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips (optional)

Method

  • Cream shortening, margarine and sugars. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder and soda, mixing well. Add nuts, coconut, chocolate chips and corn flakes. Mix and drop by large spoonful on cookie sheet. Spread each one slightly with back of spoon. Bake 15 minutes or more in 350° oven. Makes about 9 dozen cookies.
