Ingredients
- 1 corned beef brisket
- 1 small onion, peeled and stuffed with 4 whole cloves
- 1 medium head cabbage
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- 4 peppercorns
Method
- Wipe beef with damp cloth.
- Place in Dutch oven; cover with cold water.
- Add onion, garlic, bay leaf and peppercorns.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Skim any foam; cover and reduce heat to low.
- Cook approximately 3 hours or until meat is tender. Remove meat; keep warm.
