Ingredients
- 2 c. self-rising cornmeal
- 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Method
- Mix
- all
- ingredients
- into a stiff dough and then make into small
- balls
- 1/4-inch
- thick.
- Drop into 4 cups boiling liquid from salt-cured ham or shoulder bone.
- Cook 10 minutes or until done.
