Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/8 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 lb. nuts

Method

  • Mix together flour, salt, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa, Crisco and baking powder like pie dough.
  • Mix remaining ingredients together and add to dough mixture.
  • Roll into balls. Bake on greased pan at 375° until firm (like moist cake).
  • Dip in glaze made of powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.
