Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. Hershey's cocoa
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 to 1 box confectioners sugar
  • 1 large bag miniature marshmallows
  • 1 c. pecan pieces (optional)

Method

  • Prepare brownie mix as directed on box and spread over 11 x 13-inch nonstick jelly roll baking pan or cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Test with toothpick.
  • If toothpick is wet, bake a few more minutes.
  • While brownie mix is baking, prepare sauce (icing).
  • In saucepan, mix water and margarine.
  • Heat until margarine melts.
  • Add cocoa, vanilla and confectioners sugar.
  • Stir and make sauce thick enough to spoon or pour over brownies.
  • If too thick to pour, add water until desired thickness is obtained. Remove brownies from oven when done.
  • Spread marshmallows over brownies.
  • Return brownies (with marshmallows) to oven for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Do not leave brownies in oven too long or they will be too hard to cut.
  • Remove brownies/marshmallows from oven and pour icing over hot marshmallow.
  • Swirl in with spoon.
  • Sprinkle pecan pieces over icing, if desired.
  • Let cool.
  • Cut, eat and enjoy.
