Ingredients

  • 2 c. + 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips

Method

  • Sift flour, salt and soda in one bowl.
  • In another bowl, blend butter, sugars, vanilla and water.
  • Beat in eggs and add flour mixture.
  • Add nuts and spread in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake at 375° for 4 to 5 minutes, until chips are soft.
  • Remove from oven and run knife through chips and batter.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes more, until nicely brown and center is fairly firm.
