Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. fine coconut
  • 1 c. chocolate bits
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar

Method

  • Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
  • Cream together butter and brown sugar.
  • Add egg and mix well.
  • Add dry ingredients.
  • Lastly, stir in coconut and chocolate bits.
  • Mix well with hands.
  • Spread in the middle of a 1/4-inch deep cookie sheet or jelly roll pan.
  • Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.
  • Cut in squares while warm.
  • Recipe may be doubled.
  • These cookies freeze well.
