Ingredients

  • broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 or 3 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 2 1/2 to 3 c. hot water
  • 1 c. dairy sour cream

Method

  • Thoroughly coat chicken pieces with flour, salt, paprika and pepper.
  • Dust any remaining flour over chicken pieces in pan. Brown chicken in oil in heavy skillet about 15 minutes.
  • Add onion.
  • Dissolve bouillon cubes in hot water; add 1/2 to chicken in pan (add more as needed).
  • Cover and simmer over low heat 30 to 40 minutes, or until tender.
  • Remove to serving platter.
  • Add remaining bouillon and sour cream (add 1/2 cup more sour cream if desired) to pan drippings.
  • Stir well.
  • Heat, but do not boil. Pour over chicken.
