Ingredients

  • 8 c. coarsely chopped cabbage
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 quart water
  • Cavender's Green seasoning, to taste
  • 1 can Cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/2 c. crumbled, crispy fried bacon
  • 1 to 1 1/2 c. cornbread crumbs

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the cabbage, onion, and water in large saucepan. Cook until cabbage is limp but not mushy (about 5 minutes. Drain. Add Cavender's seasoning, soup, and bacon.
  • Stir well. Spoon into 1 1/2 quart casserole. Top with cornbread crumbs. Bake for 15 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.
