Ingredients

  • 1 c. chopped cashews
  • 1/2 c. butter (not margarine)
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. white corn syrup

Method

  • Line bottom and sides of a 9-inch round baking pan with foil. Butter the foil heavily.
  • Set pan aside.
  • In a 10-inch skillet, combine cashews, butter, sugar and syrup.
  • Cook over medium heat until sugar is melted and mixture turns golden brown, stirring constantly (about 8 to 9 minutes).
  • Quickly spread mixture in pan. Cool for about 15 minutes or until firm.
  • Remove candy by lifting edges of foil.
  • Peel off foil.
  • Cool thoroughly.
  • Candy may be left as a disc or broken into pieces.
  • Makes about 1/2 to 3/4 pound.
