Ingredients
- 2 cup water
- 4 tea bags (black tea)
- 2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Method
- Heat water to boiling; add tea bags reduce heat.
- Simmer 2 minutes.
- Remove tea bags.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Heat to boiling.
- Stir with wire whisk to foam milk.
- Pour mixture into cups.
- * Prepare the tea up to 24 hours ahead; cover and refrigerate.
- reheat just before serving.
- ** Substitution: Add more honey if you prefer a little more sweetness.
- *** Variation: For refreshing chai tea smoothies, refrigerate mixture until cold.
- Pour chai tea into blender container, and add 1 cup crushed ice.
- Cover and blend on high speed until smooth.
