- 1 lb. lean hamburger meat
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. celery, chopped
- 4 c. tomato juice
- 2 cans cream of celery soup
- 2 1/2 c. grated carrots
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 cloves garlic (yes, 3)
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
Method
- Brown meat; pour off drippings of fat.
- Saute celery, onion and green pepper over low heat until tender.
- Add tomato juice, cream of celery soup, 1 1/2 cups water, sugar, carrots, garlic and pepper.
- Cook about 15 minutes.
- Leave carrots a little crunchy. Pour over a slice of Swiss cheese for extra, extra goodness.
