Ingredients

  • 8 short ribs
  • 3 medium onions
  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • 6 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 4 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 oz. Heinz tomato ketchup

Method

  • In large hot pot, sear meat.
  • When it is well seared, remove from pot.
  • Add cut up onions, cabbage and tomatoes to drippings left in pot and cook until they are soft.
  • Put meat back into mixture and add remaining ingredients.
  • Simmer on medium flame for 2 1/2 hours.
  • Makes 8 servings.
