Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 c. shredded cabbage
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans (undrained)
  • 2 c. chopped cooked tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 c. diced celery
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Brown beef in hot oil over medium heat.
  • Add onions, cabbage and celery.
  • Cook until onions are transparent.
  • Add water; simmer over low heat 15 minutes.
  • Add beans, tomatoes, salt, pepper and chili powder.
  • Simmer over low heat 15 minutes.
