Ingredients
- 1lb. dry-roasted large peanuts
- 4 pieces star anise
- 2 tsp. five spice powder
- 1 Tbs. salt
- 2 tsp. granulated sugar
- 4 cups water
Method
- Put all ingredients in a large saucepan, and bring mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low, and cook for 30 minutes, uncovered.
- Remove from heat, strain peanuts and reserve liquid.
- Set peanuts aside to cool.
- Serve peanuts with several tablespoons reserved liquid.
