Ingredients

  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch morsels
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. nuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Over hot (not boiling) water, melt the butterscotch morsels and butter or margarine.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in brown sugar.
  • Cool 5 minutes, blending eggs and vanilla. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Spread in ungreased and lightly floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Cut into 2-inch squares.
  • Yields 2 dozen.
