Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 1 (8 oz.) sour cream
  • 1 1/4 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 1/2 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 medium red onion, diced
  • 1 jar chunky picante sauce
  • 1/3 head lettuce, cut in 1/4-inch squares
  • 2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 can black olives, sliced

Method

  • Mix cream cheese and sour cream (blender or mixer).
  • Spread over bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Chill.
  • Brown meat.
  • Drain.
  • Add taco seasoning and 1 cup water.
  • Bring to boil, then simmer 10 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Spread cooled meat mixture over cream cheese and sour cream.
  • Layer diced tomato and onion.
  • Spread picante sauce over.
  • Cover all with cut lettuce.
  • Top with shredded Cheddar. Sprinkle with sliced olives.
  • Serve chilled with tortilla chips.
